The back has a secure c-clasp fastener. The Gold Heart Locket is embossed with a icanthus leaf pattern and has a good working hinge. It opens to the side and is 1/1/4 inches wide and long. Great Valentines gift item!
I could find no makers marks. It is in very good condition.
